This is Geronimo.
Geronimo and Shadow had eight puppies on May 18, 2004.   They are very loving and intelligent; very well socialized.  Anyone who comes to the house (we have a teenager, so there are a lot of guests) are required to play with the puppies.  Our neighbor's grandchildren help us socialize them, too, by playing with them when they come to visit grandpa.

This puppy wants to be an agility champion when he grows up.
At eight weeks old, the puppies are very trusting and inquisitive.  Leaning is a game to them.
When the puppies are six weeks old, we start taking them to the river and to the pond so they learn to swim.  They love the water and in the spring and summer, they get to go at least twice a day.
In the river.  Isn't this a pretty picture?  It is very peaceful here on the Choptank River.
My husband and I live on a 120+ acre farm on the lovely Eastern Shore of Maryland.  We are approximately one hour away from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.  Our farm is surrounded by woods, a pond and the Choptank River, which is a perfect place to have standard poodles.  Not long after getting our first poodle, fifteen years ago, we got an illness that affects many poodle owners.  It is called the "Gotta Have Another" syndrome.  Before long, we had six!  Because of our location they are able to run and play for hours at a time.

I am a  retired teacher and am now free to devote my time to our dogs.  My husband is lucky enough to be free to play with and care for our dogs on his days off.  We share the work in our kennel, taking care of our dogs as well as those left in our charge.  It is kind of like a dog vacation center around our house.  To keep in shape, they go for long bike rides through the woods and along the river each day.  In the spring and summer, the dogs swim to stay cool after their long runs.

Ben and I have been working for several years to try to improve this magnificant breed of dog.  We have researched our dogs' lines and selectively breed for personality and health.  Our dogs are throughly tested before we ever consider breeding them.  When they have puppies, they are born in our living room and are handled from the moment they are delivered.

We want the best for our puppies and because of this, we have a spay/neuter contract.  The puppies are health guaranteed.  If a vet certifies that there is a genetic problem that could have been tested for, you may to return the dog to us and we will give you another puppy when one comes available.. ,
This is Magellan and one of Shadow and Geronimo's puppies.  I wonder what he is thinking?
This little guy fouond a duck wing Magellan brought up from the Choptand River.  His brother chased him arouond the yard for a while to try to get it from him, but he wouldn't let him have it.  Poddles are natural duck hunting dogs.
Such adorable babies!!
Well mannered and smart, too.
Geronimo weighs between 67 and 70 pounds.  He is 25 inches at the top of his withers (shoulders).
